Her Candid Altar

Suffice You

For you I will give my all
For you I will continue etching away pieces to suffice you

I will pull the sun from the sky for a rainy day if that is your desire
I will be a stool to rest your feet upon if ever they are tired

I will be your rationale to shun youth’s years of playful tender riot
I will encourage you to be at peace for the price of my own quiet

I will scream your envy from my throat’s depths to offer you reflection
I will transform myself into someone else depending on your inflection

I will be the instrument from which your notes sing and capture every tone I will be a note taker of studious nature with no memory but your sounds

I will be the cure to your tender ailments and the balm to your wounds I will be the gauze to your bleeding scrapes and I will be your womb

I will wait for the sound of breathing calm before I accept rest’s fall
I will ensure that when you awake you’re sure I never slept at all

I will learn all there is to know and become your greatest teacher
I will be selfless and all-knowing wise, stronger never weaker

And when it is time,
I’ll take your hand in mine
I will escort you back home

I will step into the Earth
lay down beside you
so you are not alone
